Joining OakSprings Hill School

Our Admissions Team follows each and every application from initial enquiry through to start date – this includes answering initial enquiries, organizing school tours and all liaison between parents and school during the application process. We are an inclusive non-selective school and welcome applications to our school all year round from pupils of all abilities.

I. ADMISSION POLICY STATEMENT
It is the policy of OakSprings Hill to admit all children without regard to race or national origin.

II. ADMISSION PRINCIPLES AND PROCEDURES

ALL ADMISSIONS
An application form must be purchased for a non-refundable fee of N10,000. The correct age for each class group as of 30th August of the class of entry is indicated below:

The pass mark for the test is set at 60% per subject. Methods of communicating the outcome of the admission application Text Messages, email or Face to Face Communication. A parent may collect the admission letter from the office. No child will be admitted to classes until all registration forms are received, school fees are paid.

Admission Process

1. Download and complete our online Application Form (one per child). Click the next tab to download the admission form

2. Ensure you have the following documents to attach to the online Application Form:
– Copy of birth certificate or passport
– Passport-sized photograph labelled with name & date of birth
– Latest school report (or a recent drawing if your child is pre-school age)

3. Immunization records

4. Pay the Application Fee via online or with POS at school. The Application Fee is not refundable.

Important: All applications must be accompanied by the documents listed above, plus the online payment for the admissions process to start.

Once a completed application form and the above documents have been received, it is reviewed by relevant admission staff and specialists. Please note that until all these steps have been completed your enquiry will still be ‘pending’ and the process will not start. We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your interest in OSH for your child and we look forward to receiving your application.

If you have any questions in the meantime please do not hesitate to contact us and we will be happy to help you. You and your child are encouraged to visit the school as part of the application process. If you do visit, you will be shown around the school by a member of our admissions team and, in many cases, join a friendly personal meeting with a senior member of the teaching staff. As soon as a decision has been made – or if any further information is needed – you will be contacted by the Admissions Team.

The OakSprings Hill School will determine the proper placement for new students. Ordinarily, students are placed in the year group which follows next in the sequence from their previous schooling; however, students will complete a placement test or assessment as part of the admissions process. To see where your child fits into the Nigerian/ British Education System. Once an offer of a place is made to your child, you will be sent an offer letter with a School Contract, which needs to be signed and returned to the Admissions Office. You will receive an electronic Welcome Pack containing additional, more detailed information shortly before your child starts at the School. If you have any enquiries prior to your child’s start date, the Admissions Office will be happy to help.

School Uniform

We believe that a school uniform provides a sense of pride and community identity for our pupils. The OSH school uniform is both practical and comfortable and is worn by all students from Nursery to 6th year and JSS1 to SSS 3. Some elements of uniform vary according to year groups, but a full list of requirements can be found in our prospectus.

Development Fee

The Fee is a charge that ensures the school’s quality over the longer term and is applied to the development of the school’s infrastructure and facilities. The development fee is charged once a child is admitted. It is a one-off payment.

Caution Fee

This deposit is non-interest-bearing and is fully refundable on application at the end of a pupil’s study at OakSprings Hill School, or earlier withdrawal of the pupil from the school.
